• Charmeuse is a combination of Satin and Velvet (back part) lightweight, soft and shiny fabrics with satin weave that gives it  a smooth front and a dull back.
• Chiffon is associated with elegance and luxury; it drapes well and has a shimmery and sheer appearance. Under a magnifying glass, chiffon resembles a fine net or mesh, which gives it some transparency. Chiffon can be produced out of natural or synthetic fibers.

Finish

• The front of Charmeuse is smooth and shiny, while the back is dull and matte.
• Chiffon slightly puckered texture and relatively rough feel that made this type of material famous. Silk satin chiffon fabric: This version of chiffon fabric is smoother than silk crepe

Composition

• Charmeuse can be made from silk, polyester, rayon or blended fibers.

Care

• For Silk Charmeuse use cold a mild detergent recommended for silk products. Avoid rubbing or scrubbing the fabrics and hang it indoors and away from sunlight.
• Chiffon tends to wrinkle easily because of its sheer texture. Chiffon can be steamed with a hand-held steamer to get creases out, and if it's synthetic chiffon—that is, it doesn't contain silk—an iron can also be used on low heat.

• Wraps approximately 2x around hair.
